US Youth Soccer, AYSO, and US Club Soccer are dropping the January-December birth-year cutoff for an August-July school-year cutoff, starting with the 2026-27 season on August 1, 2026. Kids born August through December are most likely to land in a new age group, and this season itself isn't affected. But fall registration happening now may already use the new cutoff, so check with your club.
