Privacy, affiliates, and how this site is funded.

AI transparency

We identify AI-assisted editorial content with the affected article. A recorded human review is identified separately; we do not treat an automated review as human review.

Our current categories, review rules, and correction path are described on the AI transparency page.

Affiliate disclosure

Parent Coach Desk is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

When you click an Amazon link on this site and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission. Review the product details and seller terms before buying.

Parent Coach Desk also participates in the CJ Affiliate network as a partner of SoccerGarage.com. When you click a SoccerGarage link on this site and make a purchase, we earn a commission. These links are marked inline with a "partner link" note.

Other non-Amazon links may also pay us a commission. Where that is the case the link is marked with a small note. Editorial recommendations are not influenced by commission rates.

Editorial independence

Nothing on this site is sponsored. We do not accept payment to feature a product, a camp, a service, or a person. If that ever changes, the post will say so at the top.

Camp-owner claiming and public reviews are not currently open. If those features launch, ownership verification, moderation, privacy controls, and any additional terms will be in place first. Claiming will not buy placement, ranking, a rating, or a recommendation.

If a recommendation no longer holds up, we update the piece and add a correction at the bottom.

Privacy

We collect a small amount of data, only what we need to run the site and the newsletter.

  1. Email addresses, when you sign up for the newsletter or download a PDF. Stored at our email provider, Kit. Its hosted subscription page currently displays an unsubscribe option. Before marketing delivery is activated, we require a controlled proof of consent, confirmation, suppression, failure handling, and provider configuration; future marketing sends must be suppressed before delivery is activated. Suppression does not itself delete data. You can separately ask us to delete data we control.
  2. Anonymous traffic data via Cloudflare Web Analytics. Page views, referrer, country. No cookies, no individual tracking, no advertising profiles.
  3. Aggregate audience data via Google Analytics 4. We use it to understand which pieces are useful and where readers come from. IP addresses are anonymized. We do not enable Google Signals, advertising features, or remarketing. We do not share GA data with advertisers. Google Analytics is not loaded for visitors with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled, and not loaded at all for visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
  4. Submissions you send us, when you email a story or submit a camp. Used only to respond and to publish if you ask us to. Camp submissions include your email; we use it to follow up on the listing and nothing else.
  5. Corrections, removals, privacy, copyright, accessibility, and safety requests, if the structured request form is enabled. We store the contact details and description you provide so a person can investigate and respond. The request is not published.
  6. Camp reviews, only if that currently disabled feature is opened. We would store the reviewer's email for moderation and the chosen display name for publication. The launch gate requires retention, moderation, removal, and additional notice first.
  7. Listing claims, only if that currently disabled feature is opened. We would store the name, email, organization, phone, and verification record needed to manage the claim. The launch gate requires verification, retention, support, and additional terms first.
  8. Reader testimonials, only if that currently disabled feature is opened. We would store the name, testimonial text, and optional context you submit for our editorial team to review before anything publishes.
  9. Camp and program staff contact information — a director, registrar, coach, or front-desk contact's name, title, email, or phone. Unlike the data above, this is not something the person sends us. We compile it from that organization's own public website (its contact, about, staff, or coaches page) so we can verify a listing and reach the right person. We never publish a staff member's name; if we publish a contact channel at all, it is a role label like "Camp Registrar," not a person's name. A camp or program staff member can ask us to stop holding or contacting them at our request page, and that opt-out is permanent and survives us re-checking the organization's site later. This is not yet live on the site; it will be reachable through claimed-listing self-editing once it launches.
  10. Location tools, when you deliberately enter a ZIP code in the camp directory. The ZIP is sent directly from your browser to the OpenStreetMap Foundation's Nominatim service to turn it into approximate coordinates; the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy applies. We do not store that ZIP in our directory database. Browser geolocation is not currently enabled by our site permissions policy.
  11. Spam prevention (Cloudflare Turnstile), on every public form (camp submit, camp suggest, review, claim). Turnstile runs a challenge in your browser to prove you are not a bot. We do not receive or store a personal profile from it; Cloudflare's own privacy terms cover what it sees.

We do not sell or share your email. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not run remarketing or behavioral ads.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking site-wide by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by enabling "Do Not Track" / "Global Privacy Control" in your browser, which we honor automatically.

You can also reopen Privacy choices from the footer at any time. Choosing “No thanks” stops additional Google Analytics collection for the current page and removes the first-party Google Analytics cookies the site can access.

If you want marketing email stopped, use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter. For an access, correction, or deletion request, use our request page or write to support@parentcoachdesk.com.

Privacy requests. You may ask what personal information PCD holds about you and request correction or deletion by using our request page or writing to support@parentcoachdesk.com. We evaluate identity, scope, retention, legal holds, exceptions, and timing under the law that applies to the request. PCD does not intentionally sell personal information. Some laws define sale, sharing, targeted advertising, and opt-out rights differently; contact us if you want to exercise an applicable right or question a data practice.

Children

This site is written for parents and coaches. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Medical and safety advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice. When a topic touches injury, concussion, mental health, or returning to play after a setback, follow the guidance of a clinician, your league's protocol, and the relevant national governing body. We link to authoritative sources where we can.
