We want this site to be usable by every parent, on every device.

Our target

Parent Coach Desk uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, as its conformance target. We are working toward that target across every page on the site, including reads, tools, forms, the directory, and buying guides. We have not completed an independent conformance assessment and do not claim that every page currently conforms.

Conformance is a continuous process, not a finished state. New articles publish weekly; we audit each one for the patterns below and revisit older pages when we touch them.

What we test for

Keyboard navigation. Our acceptance criteria require every interactive element to be reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator. A "skip to content" link should be the first focusable item on every page.
Screen readers. Headings, landmarks, and lists use semantic HTML. Images carry descriptive alt text or are marked decorative.
Color contrast. Our acceptance criteria require body text and interactive elements to meet at least 4.5:1 against their background and qualifying large display type to meet at least 3:1.
Resizable text. Our release contract requires pages to reflow down to a 320px viewport and at 200% browser zoom without loss of content.
Motion and animation. The site has minimal animation, and what exists honors prefers-reduced-motion.
Forms and inputs. Every input has a label. Errors are described in text, not by color alone.

Known limitations

We are honest about gaps:

The cost calculator is interactive; we are improving its screen-reader behavior so each line announces both the label and the running total.
A small number of older illustrations still need richer alt text. We update these as we touch the surrounding piece.
The newsletter signup links out to a Kit-hosted form. Kit's form is generally accessible but is not under our direct control.

If you find something else, please tell us. We treat accessibility issues as we treat factual corrections — we fix the page and log the change.

Tools we rely on

This site honors several standard browser and OS signals:

Reduced motion — animations soften when your system requests it.
Dark mode — text and contrast adjust to your preference where applicable.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control — analytics scripts are not loaded when these are enabled.
Browser zoom and reflow — pages remain readable at 200% zoom and on a 320px viewport.

Report an issue

Email support@parentcoachdesk.com with the URL of the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you were using if relevant. We aim to respond within five business days and to fix or triage within ten.

This statement is updated when we make material changes to the site or to our testing process.
