On March 31, 2026, Riddell announced the ND6 youth helmet line (SpeedFlex ND6, Speed ND6, Jet ND6), built to NOCSAE's new ND006 youth standard, which caps helmet weight at 3.5 pounds. That standard is not mandatory until September 1, 2027, but the helmets are already selling. If you buy a youth helmet this fall, ask whether it carries the ND006 stamp, not only the older ND002 mark.
