NFHS changed the rules for tooth and mouth protectors this season: no attachments unless they actually protect the teeth or mouth, nothing that could pose a safety risk to any player. Play cards (the wristband quarterbacks use to call plays) can now go on the belt instead of just the arm. Check your kid's mouth guard for gimmick add-ons before pads go on this August.
