A small bucket isn’t 40 balls of driver. Build a routine that warms the swing and ends well.

Equipment needed: 40 balls, a wedge, a 7-iron, a driver.

Setup: Driving range bay.

How to run it:

  1. First 10: Wedge half-swings, target 30-50 yards. Tempo drill.
  2. Next 15: 7-iron full swings. Pick a flag and try to land within 10 yards of it.
  3. Next 10: Driver. Slow tempo, focus on contact, not distance.
  4. Final 5: Wedge again. Always end with the easiest club so you leave the range feeling good.

What to look for: No mindless hitting. Every ball gets a target. If the kid hits five in a row at the same target, change the target.

Variation: For older kids, simulate a course: imagine the first hole, hit driver. Then visualize the approach, hit 7-iron. Then chip onto the green with wedge. Trains course management thinking.
